Often times we desire perfection in areas not required of us so that we become lonely in our self-sufficiency. Really we desire wholeness and our attempts at perfection are attempts to make ourselves worthy of it.

But Paul tells us that our treasure, the Spirit of God dwelling inside us, is contained in fragile cracked clay jars. God repairs and mends the cracks, but not to pre-broken perfection. Rather to a beautifully imperfect soundness. The healed cracks make the work distinct and beautiful and the glory of the artist shines through.

This is peace. To finally embrace your full story, receive God’s healing, and confidently put the artwork on display. It is a lifelong task as well so be patient and kind with yourself today. Be confident in God’s steady, patient, graceful, redeeming work in you to restore what is broken.
